we pray we will
be guided to safety
go in beauty

don't be angry don't get mad
don't be too happy or sad
make your Mother proud
know what isn't allowed
don't push too hard
the world may reject you

if I go soon turn to ash
do what you can to be true
when I was born I was blue
may you be blessed by Jesus,
Allah, Buddha, Krishna,
the Great Spirit,
and Abraham,
if they ask you tell
them that's where I am
religion comforts the living
the devil deals with the dead
I recite my prayers
to whomever hears them
not quite sure
no one knows
angels along the highway
walk penance to the
Church of Chimayo
pace yourself when
on pilgrimage
watch the water fall
