"I am not a Shaman,
this I know but my
poetry/music does
have special curative
powers that all art
should possess
a mysticism
and I invoke the
Great Spirit in
everything I create"
(i.e.- Santana, Van Morrison)

"Epistle To Rev. Phil"

Ourlady
We venerate
the same Saints
riding the river
of life through
it's waterfalls of anxiety,
and the ponds of serenity.

and the Ramayana
Hanuman the Monkey God
is his lucky charm
charisma rational
slightly radical
bright light radiates
emanates from his
SOUL alma would
give my life for
Barack Obama
WE have been to
the mountain top
Secret Service
better step up
because history
has shown that
the conservatives
like to put out contracts
on men of peace

Upon the Rio Grande

Sandia Mountains
Rio Grande flows
the cottonwood grows
Coronado State Monument
con mi hijo
we had a blast
don't grow too fast
father and son time
well spent life's present
feel the presence
of the inhabitants
living a pure pueblo life
now in Bernalillo
North of Albuquerque
Vincent says murals scare him
I ask if he can sense the chindi
he says yes
"you thought you might be a ghost"

Hurdy Gurdy Man

Donovan
w/ Amaru looking away at KBAC Santa Fe.
Om Shree Baba. 2/11/08.
We discussed his new foundation
w/ David Lynch and their initiative
to get meditation taught in schools.
Hanging w/ Donovan, even for
a short while, talking about one
of my favorite film makers was surreal.

Inaugural Poem

“Poem was lame, so was her recitation of it.
She wasn’t convincing or moving- it was weak.
Now on the other hand Rev. Lowery’s
"when black will not be asked to get in back..."
that was moving and had depth.
(btw my 3 y.o. son was in day-care and they listened
on the radio and he shouted ‘Power To The People’)

Is there a Doctor in the House?

Oppieandme
Praise be the Prophets
the martyrs that did not fall
as I sit upon my zafu
staring at the wall
an American Street Freak
unafraid to speak out
quite sure what I'm about
I miss Hunter S.
what would he have to
say about where
we are today
in this mess
hoping for
progress
