On Meeting Gary Snyder

tonight at the Lensic Theatre
Gary Snyder spoke of Jack Kerouac
and read some of his work
such a reverence for nature
and humanity
afterwards I waited on line
to get my book signed
twenty-seventh printing
of Turtle Island
saw Joan Roshi-san and
greeted her and she
thanked me for the poetry
finally getting to the table
telling him I was Shodo
Jodo Shinshu and
he wrote the kanji
left copies of my b-sides
and beat jazz CD
we bowed Namu Amida
Butsu I walked away from
an American Buddha and
went down to the Santa Fe
River on Sandoval
and had a smoke
reflecting on my just
having met one of the
fathers of the lineage

It must have been a wonderful experience for you.
I know there is somewhat of a Jack Kerouac “revival” going on in NM, if one could term it as such. It is amazing how some people just keep “cycling back” to us because they have so much to offer.
I'm happy as well that your poetry is being recognized—-good for you on all counts.
Hey Moonstar!!
Thanks for reading as usual
zaadz is so cool
to write something and
then almost instantaneously
see that people are “peepin'” it
it is a wonderful outlet
