Call Of Chaco Canyon

spirits speak to me
not by blood ancestry
but my flute still entices
a Park Ranger to bang on a
garbage can and sound
resounded throughout the valley
call and response
their chain-saw almost disturbed
my moment but I was way gone
Pueblo Bonito
imagining the people
assembled for a ceremony
as a raven sits in the Kiva
haunting me but then he sees
that I am only a ghost

Glad you posted this! Perhaps between the two of us, people are learning more about Chaco than they every wanted to know, tee hee.
It wasn't that long ago
I didn't know too
much about it either.
Going to Aztec Ruins next.
Will be looking forward to your “report” on Aztec.
