Cachina Musings
Today at the Palace of the Governors on the Plaza in Santa Fe-
out front in which Native American artisans sell their wares,
Vincent Amaru and I went to see a Jack Kerouac exhibit
which included the original scroll manuscript of "On The Road."
Before going there we went up to the Upaya Zen Center to drop-off
photo/poetry/ocarina for Roshi-san and show Vince around
the zendo- get him acquainted with my Buddhist background,
after being baptized in Peru two weeks ago.
We had a blast at Museum I typed a haiku and left a b-side tacked to
the wall and was rapping w/ Colombian girls who were
writing haiku- don't know why I didn't share my work w/ them.
The exhibit was a spark keeping our South American trip
up vibe alive and getting out there in the world-
From Cuzco to Santa Fe- wasn't too far to keep away the Conquistadors!!
Now here late evening drinking some Cachina, great wine like drink from Ica,
and reflecting on how far we've come. Vincent climbed out of his
crib the first night back from trip. He has grown leaps and bounds!!
I will write more of our Andean odyssey as I absorb it mas y mas.
